# Daisy Chain Host Response Word (HRW)

The **Daisy Chain HRW** step validates that both the device and host have successfully completed the Daisy Chain authentication flow.

**Why it matters:**

- Confirms the integrity of the device-host authentication chain.
- Ensures that only verified devices and hosts can move on to Secure Boot Attestation.

**How it works:**

1. Request the **Host Response Word (HRW)** from the system.
2. Monitor the **HRW** status.
3. Only continue to Secure Boot Attestation if **HRW** validation is successful.

#### **Prerequisites**

- Host must generate a valid **HCW**.
- Devices must be ordered correctly in the chain.
- Client must be authenticated.
- Valid `CF-Access-Client-ID` and `CF-Access-Client-Secret` are required.

#### **End-to-End Flow**

1. Host generates **HCW**
2. Client requests **HRW** using this API
3. Service processes the chain and HCW
4. Service returns a `transactionId`
5. Client polls status API to retrieve HRW
