# Standalone Cloud SDK Deployment (without TrustBridge)

**Who this is for:** Developers who want to run the cloud agent by itself, without the full TrustBridge platform.

**What you'll learn:** The two ways to run the Cloud SDK agent standalone and what to configure first.

The cloud agent can run on its own via `SandGrain-SDK/PoC_SDK_v3/sdk_cloud/docker-compose.yml`, which brings up an EMQX broker (`emqx-enterprise`) plus the cloud app (`sandgrain-cloud-app`).

### Two modes

**1. Full local.** Start both the broker and the cloud app together:

```
cd SandGrain-SDK/PoC_SDK_v3/sdk_cloud docker compose up -d --build 
```

**2. External broker.** Point the cloud app at a broker you already run, and start only the cloud-app container. Set these in `application_PoC_MQTT/.env`:

```
MQTT_HOST=<broker-host> MQTT_PORT=1883 MQTT_USERNAME=<user> MQTT_PASSWORD=<password>  
```

### Configure before starting

Set up two files first:

- `application_PoC_MQTT/.env`: the CyberRock base URL, Cloudflare Access credentials, and MQTT settings.
- `device_credentials.json`: the per-device credentials.

### What the cloud app does

Once running, the cloud app subscribes to `sandgrain/v1/+/req/+` and replies on `sandgrain/v1/{tid}/rsp/{action}`. CRC is auto-enabled per message when a request carries a CRC field.
